Transfer of two COVID-19 patients with the Challenger 604
Air Alliance have completed the transfer of two COVID-19 patients from Bavaria to the county of Northrhine Westfalia on our Challenger 604. Hospitals in the southern and eastern regions of Germany are struggling with an influx of Covid-19 patients amid a surge in infections. Hospital ICU wards are filling up quickly. In order to cope with a potential shortage of ICU beds, the German government has launched a project to transfer patients from heavily affected regions to different regions of Germany.
Several European nations report hospitals at breaking point, while others are reinforcing strict measures. Austria went back into a nationwide lockdown again, with mandatory vaccinations to be enforced from February.
